Rhapsody's face fell. "Then you are going to kill me aren't you!? After all I'm a monster, everyone says so. And, and I killed a person! Well I won't let you! I'm going to keep living! I don't want to die!" Rhapsody turned around and ran back for the town. She could lose him in the crowd if she out ran him. Branches hit her wings slowing her down but she couldn't take the time to avoid them. She would not die! She wouldn't!

Tomias blinked at her, catching her arm as she turned to run. his great poleaxe shifted, it's weight now countered by a single arm across his shoulder, "What ye on, silly girl? I said evil, din' I? Ye're not evil are ya? If ye were evil ye'd 'ave attacked many, many people. All the people in tha' town. Silly, silly girl!" he proclaimed. He held her with him more for company, not really caring for her comfort - he wanted company. And he'd get company whether she liked it or not.

"But, but everyone says I'm a monster. I'm a half breed!" Rhapsody tugged against the grip but it was no use, Lachlan was much stronger than her. "How do you know I wasn't planning on killing on everyone?" She stopped tugging and stood there panting. Her eyes were wide out of fear.

Tomias raised an eyebrow at her before rolling his eyes and moving forward to lift her in a fireman's lift, throwing her over his shoulder. His poleaxe moved around so as not to knock the girl out during the action.
He then continued on his way into the forest, metal greaves clinking noisily and disturbing the peace and serenity of the trees and the rustling of the leaves. He really would have to get a horse soon.
"Ye could at leas' ignore wha' other people say - 'Tis what ah do most of tha time." he murmured quietly, although it sounded more like a soft and low growl.

"Get lonely..?" Tomias mused out loud, forgetting the girl over his shoulder as well as forgetting his immediate surroundings. He promptly hit his weapon and shoulder against a tree, causing an outburst of suprised and profound cursing.
"No!" he finally cried, answering her question, "I find my company quite alright."

Rhapsody said nothing. Lachlan was angry so if she spoke he might hit her. But she thought about what he said. If he was happy by himself then what did that make her wanting someone to actually look at her without having hate or anger in their eyes. It was more proof she was a freak, a monster.

Tomias trudged on in silence through the trees with a dark look on his face. Eventually, he came to a stop in a small clearing and briefly glanced around in a bewildered state wondering how and why he was here.
Oh yes... That stupid innkeep wouldn't give me a free room. I need some money... Gosh, it's hard being a hero without money. Tomias thought to himself, his growling stomach driving the point home. With an aggravated sigh, Tomias promptly dropped the girl to the floor, letting her body roll off his shoulder.
"Stay there." he stated, stooping down to peer at her briefly, "Or ye could find some food, hmm?" He then promptly moved away and rested his weapon against a tree before scavenging about the clearing for firewood and good, dry kindling.

Rhapsody made sure not to fall on her sore side. Now she was in much more familiar terran then crowed city streets. She looked about and found some berries, no they weren't ready yet but soon they would be edible. Then Rhapsody spotted a flash of red. turning around she saw a rhapberry bush near the outskirts of the clearing. She walked over and picked some and put them in a large leaf. Then ran back to Lachlen and tugged on his shirt. "Here, these are good. I'll find some more to eat." With that she placed the leaf down and went off to look for more edible plants.

Tomias blinked slightly, peering down at the girl before she disappeared again. He raised a brow at the fruit before shrugging and popping one into his mouth, continuing[sp?] the stacking of the firewood. He then peered around for some sort of flint with which to light it.
He gave out a light sigh as he scavenged about once more, his metal gauntlets clinking slightly with his movements until his hands finally closed around two flints. He then knelt by the fire and began the process that nearly always led to some sort of cursing and a very ticked off Tomias.
Five minutes later, he was swearing at the unlit fire and the 'useless' flints, the sparks reaching the fire but not lighting it.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Rhapsody said. She hadn't found much, and that she had found had been mostly out of season, but there were a few roots and some wild crabapples that had fallen from their tree. Rhapsody was too small to reach the ones on the tree but she felt there would be anough for now. She had then come back and watched Laclan try and light the fire. She had never lit a fire before in fear of it burning out of control but wanted to help out.

Tomias threw the girl a sidelong look before grumbling and hitting the flints together once more. "Light you damn stupid pile of wood!" he cried glaring at the unlit fire. If only the insults he threw at it would light the fire, unfortunately they didn't however.
A few minutes later the fire let off a pathetic flame, a thin wisp of smoke rising from it. "If you go out..." Tomias growled through his teeth at it.
The flame spread, the logs catching fire and sending more light than warmth about the small clearing. The flames danced across the slowly charring wood, the thin wisp of smoke turning into a spreading cloud, disappearing up through the tree branches. Tomias let out a contented sigh and sat back on his feet, happy that he had lit the fire.

Rhapsody watched Lachlan through her long bangs, wondering what kind of man he was. Most of the people who cursed as fluenly as he did were very violent, but he hadn't hit her practically at all. That in itself was a mystery to Rhapsody since the only person who hadn't treated her like filth had been blind, but Lachlen obviously could see. She didn't know what to make of Sir Lachlan.

Tomias blinked at her with a slightly confused look as he wondered why she was staring at him. He quickly hid his confusion with a dark look and growled, "What ye lookin' at then?"

"Nothing, I'm sorry." Rhapsody said and looked down at the ground. She put the food she had found halfway between him and her and took one crabapple and started to eat, making sure to look down the whole time.
