"Of course! Whatever it takes." Whatever it takes. How little she may have understood how much these words could mean, she knew what they meant to her. They meant that whatever it took, she could have peace in her heart, the peace that she didn't have to decide. She didn't have to decide whether she loved magic or music more, because she could cater to both loves, even if she had little time for anything else. The elf didn't believe she needed anything else. This was exactly what she wanted. It was so great, she could have almost sworn it was just a silly dream. But it wasn't a dream! It was really! She was really going to stop arguing with herself about what she would do with her life. She could do what she wanted, with no tough choices to regret or to hold her back. It was what she wanted. It was what she cared about. It was what she was going to do.
"I'll do it."

Rhapsody walked towards what she thought was a forest but instead was a city in the trees. Rhapsody hated crowds so she stayed near the edges, rubbing against tree trunks, or limping was more like it. The reason Rhapsody has tried to reach a forest is because in the nearby city, Fraerun maybe, is because she had been sleeping in an alley that apperantly was the territory of a local gang which had a policy against half-breeds. So after recieving a beating for lingering on their land they had escorted her out of the city, throwning stones at her. It hurt, it hurt very badly. But Rhapsody couldn't let them see her weakness, she couldn't give them even more reason to hate her. So she set off for the forest hoping to be able to cry in the only place she felt like she could be without angering anyone, a forest empty of other people. Instead she found a small town full of shoppers and sellers. Rhapsody walked through, wondering if she could find a place to cry soon. She couldn't let these people see how pathetic she was, they would hate her even more. Her hood was up turning her into a small black shadow on the forest floor, moving from shadow to shadow. She heard some music from nearby. Rhapsody then found herself humming along. She couldn't do that! She stopped immediatly but something had already happened. A strong wind blew in, pushing her hood down and when it caught her wings began pushing her into the crowd. Lately weird stuff happened whenever she hummed or sang, stuff she could not control. As the wind continued she was pushed over, onto the ground. The wind then let up and those around Rhapsody complained about her blocking her way, someone kicked her to make her get up and move. Rhapsody bit her lip to stop the tears and rushed out of the crowd, knocking into some people along the way. She reached a dark shaodw and sat down, gasping and trying not to cry. It was a lost cause and so she sat there are cried as quietly as she could by stuffing her arm into her mouth.

Tomias grumbled out loud to himself, stalking out of the inn rejected. It wasn't the first time it had happened - but it usually worked. He stood and sighed in the doorway, wondering where he could sleep now and whether there was a river nearby.
If in doubt or turned away, mother nature can't stop your stay. he thought to himself, a little rhyme from his 'lovely' aunt Lavella. Just the thought of that woman made him shudder, although he loved her really. In a not-really-but-I-have-to way. She was his aunt.
Still grumbling to himself he turned and stalked down the street before taking a shortcut through a rather shadowy alley. It was then he tripped right over what felt like a sack of potatoes. He landed face first in the mud with a grunt before swearing profoundly.
Roughly picking himself from the floor and angrily brushing himself down he turned around to see what had tripped him. It appeared to be a woman. Hah, some sack of potatoes! he laughed to himself within his head, but instead prodded the woman with the toe of his metal boot.
"Ey-up chuck?" he all but growled, a voice he normally gifted to the commoners and peasants along his way. It made him feel better, the low growl of a voice he had. Although when aunt Lavella came his way with a broom it soon went up an octave.

((Umm, Rhapsody's like 9 or 10 so wouldn't me called a woman.))
"Huh?" Rhapsody said quickly whipping away tears and looking up at the man who had tripped over her. "I don't understand your accent." She sat up but was careful with the side this had nudged with his boot, it was the same side that the man in the crowds had kicked when she had been blown over by the wind she created.

Tomias practically glared down at her, squinting through the darkness provided by the two buildings being so close together. It soon dawned on him that the woman looked more like a girl. Damn. he cursed within his head, a frown devellopping[sp?] on his brow.
"Well now." he began, trying to get a sound of compassion in his voice - it didn't work - "Why ye sittin' on the floor like ah stupid lil' peasan' ay?"
(( I knew that... >_> <_< hehe.. And I apolagise for the way Tomias speaks - it can be a bit hard to understand at times, but it's just the way he speaks. ))

"Nothing! I just felt like resting a bit!" Rhapsody saw the glare but didn't care, she was used to it. Still why was this person even bothering to talk to her, she had tripped him?
((I just couldn't understand what 'Ey-up chuck' meant. I thought it might be get up chump, or you up chuck, since I didn't know which or even if those were correct I made Rhapsody not understand.))

Tomias eyed the girl, lookking her up and down as his eyes adjusted to the dim light, "I see." he murmured, more to himself than to anyone else, "Ye look like yer up tah no good methinks. No good at all."
((Ey up chuck is merely a greeting. Chuck being a Shakespearian term. ^___^ It's 'Mias' way of saying 'ello. ))

"I'm not! If I was up to no good then wouldn't you also be up to no good since your in this alley to?" Rhapsody said. She then noticed his pole-axe and gulped. If he wanted he could kill her but she would not let that happen without a fight if he was some kind of bandit.

(( dark blue hard to read in this colour scheme )) Tomias grunted at her words, a sound of distaste to him, and prodded her side with his toe once more. "Yeh, but ah don't sit on the floor here, do ah?" he growled, his words becoming lazilly pronounced.

((Sorry, I'll do plain blue))
Rhapsody winced but covered it up with the movement of getting up. "Well you just got here. You could have been planning on sitting till you tripped over me. " Rhapsody did not complain about the pain, she didn't want to look weak. Still standing was making her hurt really badly, not only on her side but also on the rest of her body which was throughly bruised from the beating she had gotten when she was told to leave Fraerun. She might even be bleeding. That thought made her freeze slightly but she soon shook it off. There was no blood, there was NO blood! There couldn't be blood, not on her. No...no blood. Managing to drag her thought away from that she looked at this man, why was he even bothering to talk with her if he thought she was up to no good? He was no like other she had meet.

"Whatever." was his simple and blunt reply as he turned himself from her, beginning his walk out of the town once more - his metal greaves clinking with each step.
"Ye look in bad shape, eh, though. Ye can follow and ah might helps ya - but dun' expect much food, eh." he called over his shoulder, balancing his poleaxe across his shoulders as soon as the narrow alley permitted, stepping out into the light before the shadows of the forest.

"I can get my own food." Rhapsody follwed him a little and stopped. "Why are you going into the forest? are you trying to lead me away and kill me?" Rhapsody was blunt having never really had learned about more subtle ways of putting things. She was also completely trusting in the answers people gave were true. She might think that a person would want to kill her, people had tried to kill her before, but she never thought that a person might be lying to her. She really was a naive little girl.

"Why would ah kill yas?" was Tomias' reply, again shouted over his shoulder before he came to a stop and spun slowly to face her side-on, "Ah might be a fighter - but me be no cannibal, eh? Ye want help with yer injurehs or not? And do ye want food without stealin' it, peasant?"

"Okay!" Rhapsody ran after the man. "What is your name by the way? I'm Rhapsody Mutt."

Tomias gave her a sidelong look as he continued to walk into the woods, "Lachlan. Tomias Lachlan. And that's Sir Tomias Lachlan. Especially to you." he mumbled, stepping over a small root.
"I'm a knight." he proclaimed, a small smile coming over him as his eyes took on an absent gaze, "And ah've battled the greatest of evils." he turned his gaze to her, "Evils ye could never imagine."
