Zeke had gone back down, dragging Terrace with him once again. Something odd was floating in the water. Her touched it and could tell. This was a plant of some sort.
As he stared at the thing, Terrace listened to River. It was her turn to drag him around as she pulled them over and shoved his hand in the naiad's face with a "what's this" sort of shrug.
Terasha voiced her own reasoning. "You're right, Luke seems to be just fine. Those glossy waterbird wings, you know," she said this almost with a hint of envy in it. Her own wings were drenched and therefore useless. "But me and these two," she pointed a thumb at the duo frantically shoving something resembling a seed in River's face, "will have a problem." She tugged on the bottom of her shirt, which happened to be clinging to her stomach, and realized something. Her mother had always warned her about wearing white shirts in the wet... but she completely forgot. After all, she always wore white shirts. But never in any sort of water. It never came to a thing like that. And now she remembered one of the few things her mother had been right about. She began to go a little bit pink, not quite visible through the blue ocean.

((ROFL!!!! Dre is gonna love this!))
"Hmm, what?" River said as a seed was shoved into her face. "Oh you found and airroot, there must be a farm nearby their not local to this area. But they are very useful, if you had a mature airrrot, which is like a vine, you can use it to get fresh air. It's sirta like the opposite of a Overworld plant which if you cut pours out clean water. Instead of water there is air that you can use to breath. How long depends on the leanght od the airroot. They are considered valuble to Overworlders so we grow them and trade them for items like glass or other materials that we can't make underwater. And I'm sure Dre would carry you Terasha! And I could try to carry Terrace of Zeke. And maybe I can ask Luke to carry the other though it would be imposing on him terribly."

((That's what the "I just realized something interesting" comment was about. I ALWAYS draw Tee in a white shirt. I don't think she owns one in almost any other color. ^^; I love making characters' lives complicated. It's just too fun!))
Zeke looked at it crooked for a bit. He had an idea, but he wasn't sure if it was going to work.
Terrace gave him that, What are you thinking this time? look.
It was returned with a, You know exactly what I'm thinking look, and he noted her eyeroll. He began infusing the thing with a druid's brand of divine magic, so that it would grow stronger and larger, and quickly. They could possibly not only use it for air, but perhaps as a sort of rope, or even, if it grew fast enough, long enough, and in the right direction, all requiring great control, something to propel them with.
"Er..." Terasha simply muttered, unable to think of a good argument, as well as unable to stop herself from turning even more pink at the mention, once again, of Dre carrying her.

Dre swam down towards the others and immediatly turned aroiund and swam up to the surface where he blushed furiously. Why did Terasha wear only white shirts? He would have to get himself under control, he couldn't chiken out like this. AS he got himself under control, which was hard as the image he had seen below kept pooping into his head, he dived down again and did whatever he could not to look at Terasha period let only her chest.

Slowly at first, then quicker and quicker until there was a large vinelike thing, a root, as River had called it, an airroot. It was long enough to tie Zeke and Terrace together, and for them to use it for air. The proper use. Not right to let it go to waste, now, was it? He offered one ned to Terrace.
She took it warily. This sort of expense was going to leave him needing a nap. And, knowing Zeke like she did, it was a good thing he'd taught her some herblore. Because he would refuse to sleep absolutely, and she was going to have to knock him out somehow. A frying pan over the head would be a little drastic, so some sleep-inducing plants would have to do.
Meanwhile, Terasha just stood there floundering about, trying to figure out how she was going to get out of this one. It wasn't like it wasn't her own fault anyway. Still, she couldn't help but wish there was some way to avoid this situation. Yeah, buy some different colored shirts next time. Or lift them. Too late to scold herslef like that now. She was just going to have to deal with it. Which was proving very difficult, moreso by the second.

"Terasha, Dre? Are you two okay because you seem a little red? Oh no! Your not getting sunstroke are you!?"
Dre shook his head violently and despite the cool of the water felt his face get even warmer.
"Well if your sure, Dre we need to get back to the ship, will you be able to fly? Your sure your not ill?"
Dre shook his head up and down, wishing he could talk under water like the naiad.
"Alright, but you should not be made to strain. I can take Terasha to the ship but I won't be able to get her out of the water. I was hoping you would be able to do that but your not feeling well."

"I'm not sick..." Terasha mumbled, going a darker shade of pink. Well, not in the sense that I'm physically ill, that is. It was bad enough that she thought Dre might notice what was going on. The fact that he obviously did made the whole situation even worse. Instinctively she crossed her arms. Why oh why oh why did she have to agree to go swimming? Why?

Dre reached over and grabbed Terasha then swept out his wings and with a strong flap he was out of the water and soon in the air. It was hard, being wet, carring Terasha, and flying but he at least had the wind on his side. So did the ship but he knew how to use the wind better than the sails could. Soon he caught up and landed on the deck, carefully putting Terasha down. His shirt had dried while they were swimming and he handed it to Terasha. "Here, use it." Wether he meant to dry off or cover up he wasn't sure himself and didn't want to think about it right now. Why did she have to wear white!?

Terasha was as red as she could possibly get now. What an idiot! What and idiot! The only way she caught Dre's shirt was reflex, and then she just stood there looking like nothing he'd just said had registered. In fact, it hadn't. She was too busy being embarrassed. Once again, the half-Kurash resigned herself to the fact that she was going to need some different colored shirts. If it was possible, she turned even more red, skin hot with the sun and humiliation. What was srong with her? She turned and, without thining, raced out of sight, on her way to the ladies' cabin, she supposed. Her still wet feet made a soft patting noise on the wood and left a trail of puddles in their absence.

Dre sighed once she had left, it had been hard keeping his cool when her shirt was practically see through. He walked over to the edge and looked for Luke, Terrace, Zeke, and River.
Rhapsody was startled when someone came into the women's room. She quickly ducked under a hammock that had the blanket hanging over the edge so that what was under it was near invisible.

((Well, good new is Rhap's no longer lost in the time space continum. ^^)
Terasha was still cursing herself for a fool as she curled up in her hammock and shut her eyes tightly as possible. At the moment all she wanted to do was dissappear. She didn't want all of this to happen. She didn't want all of these extra emotions she didn't need. And she wondered still if she truly just wanted Dre as a friend again. Just a friend. Nothing more. All of this extra was messing her up, especially trying to hide it. Secrets. She didn't want to keep secrets, especially from Dre. Tears flowed freely now. Why was all of this happening? It was too much, too much.
Suddenly she felt something under the hammock. "What on Kiari's green earth?" she asked herself, leaning over. Pulling up on a drooping sheet, she wiped the salty trails from crying away from her face. Then she could see clearly. Oh. That little girl, what was her name? Something that had to do with music... Melody? Harmony? Rhapsody, that was it.

"Uh, ah, um. I just wanted to stay out of your way." Rhapsody said quickly and quietly. "I'll go now." She came out from under the hammock and headed for the door.

"Heyheyhey, kiddo, hold up a second," she said, one hand out as if it would do anything to stop her, which it was unlikely to do. Curiousity ebbed at Terasha. what made this kid so scared? "Why're you always hiding in here, eh?"She sniffed, still getting over that sobbing bout. The hawk-winged half-Kurash neglected to mention to the girl that if she kept embarrassing herself like she just had, or even if not, Rhapsody might soon have company hiding down here with her.

"The others would not like e aroud, I cannot do anything good and Miss. Blue said she would slowly kill me if I didn't have a talent for something that could help." Rhapsody said nervously. She had been helping out all she could but she didn't really have anything she could do for these people besides clean up around the ship and do all the odd erands people had.

"Well if that isn't... what makes you think no one would want you around, eh? No one's completely worthless." That was a lesson Terasha'd had to learn time and time again, until Dre'd finally gotten it to sink into her thick skull, but she'd learned. "And Miss Blue just wanted to scare us all out of our wits and make us all obedient little kiddies, don't you see. No one's going to let her slowly kill lil' ole you."
