People shouldn't have to ask this question, so this is the "what's a rare race" topic.
Rare races are races who are supposed to have a considerably low population compared to the other races in A'Dense. Their population could be anything from 5 to 50, or even a few more, but the point is, we can't have thousands of them roaming the land.
Your ability to gain a rare creature may depend on any and all of the following:
The most important thing is a first come, first serve basis. If we already have a quite large pantheon of gods, for instance, we can't let a late asker have a position when there are a lot already.
The next most important thing is your roleplaying ability. To be allowed to play a rare race, at the end of your character description you must also add a roleplaying sample. These positions can't just be given to any old player (some races I wouldn't even let myself get) and we need to be sure you're the right kind of person we want to have this position.
Another factor is, have you been playing on this site? If you've already got a roleplaying character and we know you, we're more likely to give you a higher position. We also consider, under this category, how often you're on. If you only get on maybe once a month, then we probably won't let you get this position.
Also, if you're a rulebreaker, you most likely won't get a rare race.
