"And let's try this a fourth time, is it? Or third? Shall we?" Terrace was begining to be annoyed that her words of truth were having no effect whatsoever. "I am not going to kill you. I want to help you."
"What she means," her lupine guardian clarified, "Is that if you're out of luck, or you need some company... well, we've always got the room for another person to travel with us. Unless you were headed somewhere important?"
At Terrace's nod, he let the girl go. Hopefully she wouldn't try to get away again. Then this would all just be in vain. Hopefully. She held out her hand in a peaceful gesture. "What's your name, girl?" She tried a friendly smile. Hers, unlike some of the other beast-people's she'd met, wasn't filled with dangerous-looking teeth. She thanked Kiari for that, or else the grin might simply have scared the girl even more.

"I don't need company, if you stay around me you'll only die, everyone does. So it would be better for you to leave. My name is Rhapsody Mutt." Rhapsody stayed, mostly because she was so exhausted. "Why would you want to help me?"

Terrace stopped. Die? No one died from just being near a person. It wasn't at all logical. "Well, then, Rhapsody. You've probably gathered our names by now, but it's best to be introduced formally." She gestured to herself. "The name is Terrace Nightshine. And this is Zeke Shadowpaw," she finished, as Zeke nodded. "You know, just because you've had grief in your life before... that doesn't mean it has to happen anymore."
She remembered people who had ran away or died of fright when she lost control of her power. It had happened so often at first... she had to stop being so foolish and small, had to learn to be strong, how to keep a cool head, how to learn control. She still didn't have full grasp of her power. In anger she could explode with the outrageous force of her fearpowers. People could get hurt.
"Where Terrace goes, I go," Zeke said with a solemn nod. Whatever she chose now was his choice too, as always. He also added, quite logically, "You don't just die from being around a person." Maybe this girl was just one of those who was always at the wrong place at the wrong time, he thought. Maybe.

"Only if their nice to me, then they die. Mr. Gerld, Sir Lachen. Their both dead because they stayed around me and were nice. I killed Mr. Gerld, I killed him. It, it was an accident, I didn't mean to kill him, just scare those boys, make them stop hurting me, but instead I killed him." Rhapsody was no longer in her right mind, she was lost in those memories. Why did they have to come back to her. And the blood, there had been so much blood. Despite the heat of the plains she was shivering.

Terrace awkwardly placed a hand on the girl's shoulder. She knew what it was like to see things like that... after all, people had died in her dreams, people had died of fright after just making her a little bit angry. Perhaps they hadn't been loved ones, but she still knew what it was like to see death. "Things like that can mess up a person. I know. Accidents happen, Rhapsody. That's something we can't change." Her eyes shone, remembering how much she regretted what she'd done before. Trying to get those still alive to talk to her... the looks of utter horror, the looks of fear on the faces of those whose visage would be twisted that way forever in the arms of Exha. "Can I at least try? Will you let me try to help you deal with it?" With one hand, she turned over and over her obsidian stone that hung from the change on her neck.
And Zeke looked at her in concern, knowing exactly what she was thinking. After all, her guardian had been there since she'd gotten her powers. He'd seen her stumble backwards in shock at what she was capable of. He just wanted to comfort her right now, but it wasn't possible. It would interfere with his duties. It wasn't meant to be.

Rhapsody was confused, and so tired. She could barely keep her eyes open but she was determined to stay awake. She wasn't sure what they were asking, she couldn't make any sense of anything. But it felt like they were asking her something. Rhapsody nodded and wobbled as she literaly was falling asleep on her feet.

"You're tired," Terrace observed. She nodded to Zeke, in their silent sort of understanding. They would make camp here, now. Nightfall was creeping up on them faster than it could have been noticed. "We're going to make camp here. You can stay with us for the night, if you wish." She looked sadly at Zeke.
He would stay watch, as he always did. He seemed to have a never ending supply of energy. It was odd. She thought perhaps he at least drifted off at night sometimes. She'd woken him up before, trying to convince him that he had not fallen asleep during watch. He was too proud for that, it was true.

"Uhhhhhh..." Was the only answer Rhapsody gave before collapsing to the ground asleep. But then started back up with a shout. She had landed on her broken orm. "Owww!" She grabbed her throbbing arm, trying to keep back the tears.

Zeke instinctively bent down and retrieved a pack of herbs. Sitting on his knees, he said kindly, "If you'll let me help you, I can."
Terrace came to sit next to them. "He's a druid. Verenine," she added, to clarify his skills with plants rather than animals. It was, as well, how he'd called the grasses of the plains to his aid earlier."
The lupine man pulled out the necessary items to make a sling for Rhapsody's arm and the herbs which would help her heal faster and with less pain, even more potent when used with a druid's ability.

Rhapsody put out her arm slowly, eyes alert and on Zeke wating to see if he would really heal it or hurt it more.
((Sorry about the incredibly short post. XP Writer's block I think.))

((Aw, poor you. =O))
"Don't worry. It'll only hurt if you make a fuss," Terrace said sternly. She knew this, for she'd had her own arm broken a few times before.
Zeke smiled kindly, using pain-numbing herbs on Rhapsody's arm and creating a sort of cast-sling combination over her shoulder. It took about ten minutes to finish the whole thing, and then it was done.
"There. Your arm should feel a whole lot better now. It can come off in about a week. Only because it's already been healing."
"You're like a little soldier," Terrace laughed. "Strong and brave."
Zeke smiled at the midnight-haired girl. It was a rare moment when she laughed, and he loved the sound.

Zeke and Terrace exchange looks. Now was as good of a time as they were going to get to ask Rhapsody if she was going to come with them.
"We'll be travelling to find a ship to Tyraan soon," Terrace began, looking Rhapsody directly in the eye. "From there we'll be boarding a ship to go on an adventure. And, to be honest, we'd like it if you travel with us." She sighed before continuing. "I'm not going to lie to you. It's going to be dangerous. One of us might even be killed."
Some unknown look flickered across Zeke's face at that moment. Terrace would never know it, but he was thinking what would happen to him if she died. Horror.
"We'll be setting off in the morning. If you don't come with us, we can drop you off at the edge of a city along the way with perhaps some money to get you by. If you do, well, we can pay your fare to Tyraan and I'm sure you'll be an asset." She tried to give a welcoming smile, leaving it open for Rhapsody's decision. "What do you say, little soldier?"
It was obvious that Terrace was becoming fond of this girl. The young one was sad and needed someone to take her in, and the lupine lady felt that she should be this person, if no one else. Something seemed to trouble Rhapsody so much, all the time. She was sure part of the mystery was unravelled, but it was creating more and more questions.

"Uh, you'll allow me to stay with you? Really? Thank you!" She hugged Terrance fiercely, it was the first time anyone had asked her to accompany them anywhere in as long as she could remember.

Terrace blushed and patted Rhapsidy on the head. "Of course you can come. Er... but you have to let go of me first." She laughed again. She really hadn't thought the girl would agree so quickly. This was more than likely to turn out better for the both of them.
Zeke stood up. "You two should go to sleep. We'll set out for Tyraan in the morning, if that's alright," he said. It was obvious they were all getting tired. Xyla's mission could wait a night.
