"Wouldn't the plants be so damp you would have a hard time burning them? Besides all the plant life is down in the valleys, far below us." Rhine said, cold attitude once more in place. It was always like that, a brief sugres of anger, even briefer fellings of sadness, and the briefest touches of happiness after a kill. Of regret and guilt, not even a millisecond.

Ken was walking, and walking, and walking. It seemed as if she'd been walking forever before it started raining. And then she walked some more. Sure, it made plants all pretty and shiny, but it made her sleek, black hair heavy on her head, and the matching wings of the raveness were incapable of flight. She hissed a curse at the rain, audibly. She would need to find somewhere to stay, until this horrible storm passed over, for her to dry her feathers in. She heard voices from a nearby cave. Easily Kenru prepared to kill them over it if the need arose. Her dark and malevolent visage appeared in the entrance of the dry area, eerie in the light of the crackling fire. The lady assassin announced her presence. "I am staying in this cave." This would go whether the group assembled liked it or not.

"I believe one asks before barging in and saying they shall stay where they might not be welcome." Rhine said without even looking up or giving any special attention to this intruder. If anything she treated her like a little girl who had just done something wrong and was being lightly scolded.

Kenru narrowed her eyes. "You there. Cheshen. What are you saying? I thought those of your stature were heartless and cruel. And yet I see two pixies in your den." She said the word pixies as one would say the word dung. "And yet you won't allow the likes of me? I may not be a Cheshen, be we seem a kindred." She believed she could have been one of the Cheshenu arts, if she'd possessed the time and patience, not to mention that the assassin's trade was their main focus, where hers concerned the shinies she now carried with her. As it was, the ninjalike sect tended to produce those as heartless and cruel as she was, give or take a little love for bloodshed. In her own obsessive compulsive way of doing so, that is. That was the thing that made Kenru different.

"They had respect, you don't. It is as simple as that dear." Rhine continued in her condenseding tone, like she was explaining the obvious. "But since you will hurt yourself if you go back out there in your present condition so you may stay."

She simply mumbled hissed replies to herself and sat down... far away from anyone else, shooting unneccessary glares at the pixies. In a way, she was acting quite like a child would. Still, she promised herself that anything worse and she'd have to kill that Cheshen, kindred or no. And probably the pixies, too, since they might go off and tell the West's ragtag group of knights-slash-policeman about her if they got away. She really didn't like that she was getting permission from this beast-person, as she looked, even if the lady had been here first. It seemed as if she was scolding her like a grandmother, even though the lady couldn't, by her looks, have been much older than herself, perhaps even younger.

"Welcome to the cave of Improbable Happenings. Here we have a kindly Cheshen. A melancholy pixie, and a totally insane pixie. And what are you supposed to be. What freakish creature joins us in this place where probablility seems to mean nothing?" Nihilion scowled. He had little patience for this rude beast person who stumbled in out of the rain.

"I heard that," Kenru hissed. Within a flash she was back, her conecaled wepaon at the pixie's throat. "I am not freakish. And you'll do well to remember it, pixie-man." She gave a glare that could fry eggs. Ken didn't remove the blade. She was ready to kill, as always.

"You're welcome to try and kill me if you want. It won't do you much good though." Nihilion's eyes glowed an icy blue and the rune on his forehead suddenly became a bright white. He flicked a finger forth and the beast girl was flung bodily away from him. "I have a contract with Vina and Exha. I don't die until they decide it's my time. If you harm the girl I'll send you to them in a heartbeat. Don't think you're the only ones here who don't mind killing. Really all the people in this cave are not so different from each other. As I said before Cheshen. You and I are more alike than either of us care to admit." The glow went away and Nihilion sat back a bit and conjured himself some vegetables.

"Why you! Mages. Damn them and all their magic," Kenru cursed. She didn't like mages, not one bit. She wasn't prone to stealing things from them, either. The raveness thought all that was about them unnatural, moreso than anything anyone thought what she did twisted. She was resigned to try again, definitely, while they slept. She reset herself with her dark wings, running a slender finger through her sleek black hair.
Ken's face was distorted in rage. Her pride was hurt severely by this pixie and this Cheshen who thought to get the better of her. Moreso, she had underestimated the power of those around her. Anyone who destroyed her pride would feel her wrath, whether any of them survived or not. Leaving this group may even have been a better choice, but she wanted them dead. No word would get out of her supposed weakness, not even when none gathered knew her name. Especially with the news she'd just gotten recently. She had to live to do what she needed to do.

Rhine watched and then in the blink of an eye was infront of the enraged raven-girl. "Know this, they are my guests and are my responsiblity. So any harm done to them will be done trice so to you." Rhine's tone still looked down on the girl but now there was a new edge to it, like a blade moving under silk. "And as I told you before pixie, you know nothing about me."

Nihilion smiled. "Perhaps, however, I think I know enough to name you. Rhine of the Cheshenu. Quite a curse, powerful magic. Bound to Exha, but with a stubborn connection to Vina as well. Yes, I know this curse. I bear one much like it. And a thread that traces off into the distance, curious. You are connected to another mortal?"

Kenru muttered curses, something about "mages and their mage babble" as she stalked back off into her corner. She was not going to be treated this way! Like a small child? No! It wasn't fit for one such as she.

"I told you pixie," She was suddenly right in his face, dagger out and pressed lightly against his neck. "You know nothing, so watch your tongue. Just because I have allowed you to stay unharmed so far does not mean I shall continue to do so. If you continue to blabber on I will treat you worse than the foolish raven."

The pixie sighed, and grabbed the fox's arm drawing it across his throat and slitting it completely, He gasped in pain, gurgled for a moment, fell to his knees and grabbed his throat. He bled profusely for a moment and then the blood simply dried up and dissapeared and when he removed his hand the cut was already healing and dissapearing. He then quickly cast a spell and a dagger of ice flew across the room directly at the Cheshenu's throat. "Let me prove my point."
